Glass Candles - Guidance and Tips
TIPS ON CARING FOR YOUR GLASS CANDLES
Sivan Decor manufactures its own glass candles so you know you are buying a QUALITY HAND BLOWN candle. We use a HIGH QUALITY WICK and a HIGH QUALITY OIL. The oil is ODORLESS and SMOKLESS and therefore is IDEAL FOR EVENTS The glass candle you buy from us is MANUFACTURED IN SA.
The glass candles should last you for life but firstly its important to know how they work.
CARING FOR YOUR WICKS
The candle burns by facilitating a capillary action up the cylindrical tube allowing the oil to burn at the top of the wick fibre.
The wick should be level with the top of the glass candle- DO NOT pull the wick upwards!. Once you light the candle the flame will start small and then progressively build up.
For fixed systems ( i.e. where the inner tube/cartdridge is fixed) check that the wick does not stick to the top of the glass candle. To check take a tweezer and gently pull the wick upwards to establish whether it is stuck. If not, leave it. If after a period of time you feel that the wick is starting to stick, gently pull the wick upwards a few millimeters to expose fresh wick and then cut burnt portion off ensuring that the 'new wick' stays levels with the top of the glass candle. There is extra wick within the glass candle so using some more wick will not compromise the candles performance.
For cartridge system ( i.e. where the inner tube/cartridge is loose) replacing 'old wicks' is remeidied by simply pulling out the old cartridge and replacing it with a new one. Every new candle is shipped with an extra cartdridge ensuring that you are able to keep your glass candle for life. Additional cartridges may be purchased.
USING THE RIGHT OIL
The oil we provide is a clean burning high quality lamp oil. DO NOT use different oils as the wick will get damaged.
